Compact, weight-saving and variable
KINETROL quarter-turn actuators operate on the principle of rotary wing pneumatics and dispense with lever arms, racks and gear ratios, and thus also with wear of the intermeshing moving elements, e.g. Tooth flanks. This allows the decrease of a pure torque without disturbing lateral forces on the output square. The drives are characterized by a compact, weight-saving and variable construction.
The bandwidth of the output torque ranges from 0.9Nm to 19000Nm. Upon request, part-turn actuators with high torque can be equipped with a manual emergency transmission. Drives with a smaller torque can be used with a forked spanner or hand lever with max. 300Nm be operated. All quarter-turn actuators and spring lock units have a free square socket for this purpose.
KINETROL quarter-turn actuators have a direct attachment option for solenoid valves with the connection diagram according to NAMUR, add-on modules like e.g. Positioners, limit switch units etc. are in most cases mounted directly on the drive, which ensures a compact unit.
All quarter-turn actuators are equipped with a durable, baked epoxy resin powder coating and equipped with stainless steel screws. The working angle can be adjusted by the adjustable end stops in both directions of rotation.
The service life of KINETROL quarter-turn actuators can be measured after millions of cycles thanks to the long-lasting polyurethane lip seal that presses through the slotted, self-adjusting stainless steel spring plates and their epoxyd resin-coated running surfaces.
Alternatively, seals made of VITON are available. The drive requires almost no maintenance. The construction of the spring lock unit with a spiral spring, in comparison with other pneumatic rotary actuators, ensures the lowest torque loss in the course of a spring stroke.
The deviation is about 17-20% from the beginning to the end position. With KINETROL rotary actuators, the same torque is available in both directions of rotation. Since the coil springs are loaded only to a small part of the maximum allowable stress, they have an extremely long life and have no signs of fatigue. Another advantage is the installation of the springs in a separate housing with IP 65 protection.
